Whales, Dolphins and Seabirds

Bring your binoculars for a fantastic, full day of birding and whale watching in the famous deep water canyons of Monterey Bay, California. Leave from Fisherman’s Wharf on board the Star of Monterey with our very experienced skipper, Nick Lemon. We’ll be seeking both Blue and Humpback whales, in addition to Pacific White-sided, Common, Northern Right Whale, and Risso’s dolphins. Keep a look out for many seabirds including alcids, albatross, shearwaters, jaegers, and skuas. This past year we had “friendly” Humpbacks coming up right beside the boat for amazingly close views! This is our only local, one-day trip and is very popular, so please contact us early for reservations. For those who’ve already enjoyed a Cheeseman tour and for anyone wanting to meet us prior to a fantastic safari abroad, this is your chance to spend a day with us doing what we love!

Boat: Star of Monterey, 65 feet long, owned by Chris' Sportfishing, skippered by Nick Lemon

Leaders: Gail, Doug, and Ted Cheeseman; plus Allen Royer and Mike Mammoser.

Time: 7:40 AM (ship departs at 8 AM sharp, no exceptions) to 4 PM.

Cancellations:If you need to cancel, please let us know at least 10 days prior to the trip so we can send a refund. We cannot give refunds or credit if you cancel within 10 days of the trip.

No refund will be made for any unused portion of the tour unless arrangements are made at the time of booking. Cheesemans' Ecology Safaris is registered as California Seller of Travel #2063050-40. Registration as a seller of travel does not constitute approval by the State of California. All payments for transportation or travel service not provided to the passenger shall be promptly refunded, in accordance with terms described above, unless the passenger otherwise instructs us, in writing. All client payments are deposited into a trust account in accordance with California law. This business is a participant in the Travel Consumer Restitution Corporation (TCRC). We will always make due refunds in a timely manner, as we have for over twenty years. However, if we didn't, you, the passenger, may request reimbursement from the TCRC within six months of the scheduled end of the tour. Please feel free to ask us for more information.
