Discussion Group Join the Cheesemans' Polar Expedition List Server and discussion group website, which is open for membership for anyone signed up for our polar expeditions. The list was started after our 2000-2001 expedition as a forum for our exuberantly enthusiastic group to stay connected. Since inception, the group has been wonderful for sharing news and the website has accumulated a diversity of links, files and photos, and even a movie of us rescuing a fur seal from a fishing net! If you are interested in joining our group, view our detailed instructions.
Itineraries Read an overivew of our Antarctic expeditions. Take a look at the itinerary choices and spaces available in our current trips list. Your itinerary contains information about your ship, staff, schedule, flights to book, lodging, travel insurance for you to purchase, etc.

Travel Insurance There are many types of travel insurance, including emergency medical/evacuation insurance, and also trip cancellation and interruption reimbursement insurance. Due to the remote location of the polar regions, we require all our passengers to purchase emergency medical care and evacuation insurance for the duration of the expedition. We have had good experience with Access America. Visit their website for complete details and we will also send you their brochure with your trip materials. You can purchase a policy via their website, phone or by mail. If you choose, separate trip cancellation insurance to cover trip costs is also available. Whatever insurance you purchase, be sure to review the terms of all available policies carefully in order to buy the policy that you need.
